Uses of Phenomenology

This is chapter 4 of my book, Medicine, A Phenomenological Inquiry. Uses of phenomenology: Many notable philosophers of the 20th century were phenomenologists, including Edmund Husserl, the movement’s chief architect, Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and Hans Jonas, to name a few.  In the broadest possible terms, phenomenology is a theory of subjective experience. Continue reading “Uses of Phenomenology”
