Richard J. Severson

I want to stand aside at times
To stop the merry-go-round
To end this matter of caring about everything that comes given
As if it were all sacred blessing, everlasting
To draw breath and trudge along
(Numbed by indecencies of unsavored events)
To journey’s end
Without a whimper, complaint or fathom
Of the belittling circumstances that make this life a life.

Jesus also experienced the need to get away and be alone and reflect on His mission. Each of us has a mission in life that drains us spiritually and in term physically. The many missions to be a good example to others including our children is a heavy responsibility. For the religious as myself, continual struggle and rejoicing in the little victories. In life it is not all about us, we focus too much on self which can be a prison, freedom is to accept who we are and work on the things we can change be it self or help others.
